TheDiscDB
A community-maintained database that knows what's on your discs. When there's a match, MKV Auto already knows which titles matter and which are junk — before ripping begins.
Title & episode metadata
TMDB
Once you pick the movie or TV series and season, TMDB fills in the details — titles, years, and episode data — so you don't have to.

The awkward discs
Finds the real movie
Some discs (Lions Gate titles, Avatar UHD, and friends) hide the real movie behind hundreds of decoys — a naive rip would write terabytes of garbage to your drive.
MKV Auto spots them and runs an Exploratory Rip: one playlist gets ripped, scene previews are pulled out, and you drag them into story order. MKV Auto figures out which one is real and rips only that. No 4 TB of junk on your drive.
